Physicians Round Table

Do you place a larger emphasis on educating patients regarding cardiovascular health during American Heart Month than you do during other months?

While the majority of respondents, 81 %,  did not emphasize heart health anymore this month, 68% of you believe that designating days, weeks or months for certain diseases has led to increased awareness for those diseases. About 33% of respondents felt the designations boosted fundraising for cures while 19 % said it created a joint coordinated effort between healthcare professionals, the pharmaceutical industry and government to eradicate diseases.  Only 10% said that it scared patients into believing they might have diseases that they did not.

Reaction to CVS Caremark pharmacies announcement to stop selling tobacco products beginning October 1

While the doctors of PRT gave seven times more affirmative answers than negative ones when asked to provide a one-word reaction to the news that CVS Caremark pharmacies was no longer going to sell tobacco products, 91 % of respondents felt the decision would have little to no impact on smoking cessation efforts in the US.  Take a look at our no-smoking symbol word cloud below. The larger the word is, the more it was mentioned as a response to the question.
